Calibration saves energy – and money

One of the lesser-known benefits of having your TV calibrated, especially for certain types of televisions such as plasma, is that the calibration can save significant amounts of energy. This is because the manufacturer’s default settings put the TV in “torch mode” to compete with other manufacturers on the showroom floor.

If saving energy is at all appealing to you, either because you care for the environment or simply want to save money, think seriously about a calibration. In some situations, you could save as much as $50 per year.
